Q+A

Where are you based?

Currently we are living in Portland, OR.

Do you travel?

YES! We love traveling and are open to capture your adventure wherever you are.

What types of photoshoots do you do?

We do couples, portraits, engagements, families, weddings, elopements, business shoots, commercial and more!

What are you going to do with your van?

You guys! We are so excited! We bought a van and now we are converting it so that we can live and travel in it. Our plan is to visit all the National Parks. If you’re planning a wedding or an engagement and want to do something completely different and out in nature, let us know and hopefully we’ll be visiting that park/area soon.

We don’t have a travel plan yet, but you can help us make one.

How much do you charge?

Check out the Investment page on the website. We’d love to get in touch with you! Let us know who you are, what you’re planning and what your budget is and we will plan something awesome!

Pricing includes transportation, a fun experience during the photo session, professionally edited images & digital files. Photos will be delivered as digital downloads along with a beautiful online gallery from which you can then download directly to your computer and also order high quality prints from.

We value our work and time and deliver our best to you!

What is your typical process with working with a new client?

Get to know you and your vision for what you want us to capture! So that means we’ll either talk over txt message, call or meet in person depending on the shoot. We will plan the shoot and how it will go (location, time, details, outfits and so on)

How did you get started with photography?

My parents bought me a small camera when I was a young girl. I would take it everywhere and give my friends photoshoots. When I started working, I saved money to buy a professional camera. That’s when I started learning more about photography. I took a college course and started putting everything I learned into practice.

A year ago, my husband and I took a year off to travel the world and we took our camera with us. We captured beautiful photos all over the world and came back home with the decision to share our passion for photography with others. That’s how That One Adventure Photography was born!

What types of clients have you worked with?

We’ve worked with some amazing people who love what we do and value our work! We’ve captured a beautiful elopement on the beach, a winter couple adventure session, a family adventure session in a local park, a fall maternity session with new parents, and a boho inspired winter styled shoot!

Also, we’ve worked with people who needed headshots for their social media and business. We try to find something in common with our clients, connect and create a fun and comfortable experience!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a photographer?

My biggest advice is to communicate your vision for what you want. Also, to make sure that you like the photographer’s style and value the work and time that goes into capturing a photo.

What questions should a client think through before talking to a photographer about their project?

What is my budget? How much money am I will to spend for an experience and quality photos?

What is my goal? What is my vision for this shoot?

What location am I thinking to have the shoot take place at? Outdoor/Urban/Office/Indoors…

How many outfits am I planning on wearing? How much time do I need for the photo session?

What’s my timeline? How fast do I need the photos?

What do I wear for my photoshoot?

  • Wear colors you like but not the brightest version. Some great colors that work well during photoshoots are neutrals, warm colors and earthy tones. Also, don’t wear too many colors. For example if you’re a family and you’re picking outfits for everyone pick a main color and a couple complementary colors.
  • Avoid busy patterns, designs and logos on clothing.
  • Make sure the outfit fits your body and isn’t too tight or too loose.
  • Wear clothes you feel confident in.
  • Dress for the weather
  • Think about the location.
  • Bring a second option with you just in case youre in feeling comfortable in the first outfit or if anything happens to it. For example, you accidentally spill coffee on your white blouse on the way to the photoshoot. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.

What if I’m not photogenic or I’ve never had professional photos taken?

That’s totally okay! We don’t expect anyone to be photogenic or to have experience. Come as you are and we will make the experience comfortable, easy going and we’ll help you with all the posing. The best thing that you can do is to relax, forget that you’re in front of the camera and be yourself. Smile and laugh. It all shows through the photos.
